Please Note: Target date affects placement of words along the stages. Please see: What is a "target date" and why should I care?
Any given word moves through four stages:
  • Just Begun: All words start in the just begun state.
  • Well on its Way: Correctly answering questions on the word 3-5 times moves it to the "well on its way" stage.
  • Almost There: If the memory strength of a word is strong enough to be remembered close to the target date (usually 2-3 months before the target date), then it’s moved to the "almost there" stage.
  • Ready: If the word is strong enough to be remembered on the target date with no additional study, then it’s moved to the "ready for target date" stage.
  • Words that a student has marked as "I Know This (IKT)" are automatically considered ready for the target date.
