Overview

Membean allows you the option to mask student names. This feature enables you to share report and class information with students and other teachers. You can easily anonymize your reports by following the directions below.

Turning on Anonymous Mode

To turn on Anonymous Mode, use the drop-down menu next to your name and click Anonymous  Mode

You'll be asked to type "Understood" to confirm your request. Once you type that, you'll be able to click Enter Anonymous Mode.

What happens when you turn on Anonymous Mode?

When you enter Anonymous Mode, each student will be anonymized with the name of a famous author or character. This will allow you to share the report without sharing student data.

You can verify that you're in Anonymous Mode by viewing your account icon.

Here's an example of what your roster would like like in Anonymous Mode.

In Anonymous Mode, do not issue assessments or grade assignments. Be sure to exit the anonymous session before editing any data or performing actions such as student transfer or password reset.

Exiting Anonymous Mode

To turn off Anonymous Mode, use the drop-down menu next to your name and select Exit Anonymous Mode. The names will revert back to reflect your original class.
